With over 30 years of experience in fintech, AIF management, entrepreneurship, angel investing, and mentoring, Andrey founded AAlchemy Ventures Limited, a business angel network - member of EBAN, running its own startup accelerator and business angels' school to help startups launch and scale in Europe and North America. His business and academic careers began simultaneously in 1992, as he balanced university studies with entrepreneurial ventures. After earning an MSc in Accounting and Audit in 1996, he returned to academia in 1998 to pursue a Ph.D. in Taxation and Fiscal Policies, defending his thesis in 2001; his doctoral degree had also been recognized by Universitat Ramon Llull in 2021. In the same year 1998 he co-founded what would later be recognized as a fintech or neobank. This journey spanned two attempts and 15 years, culminating in a successful exit in 2013. In 2014, he joined Global Executive MBA (GEMBA 7) program, jointly run by Georgetown University and ESADE Business School, where he was introduced to angel investing – a moment that sparked a lasting passion. In 2015 he established a separate compartment for venture investments within an alternative investment fund which I managed as GP and CIO since 2007, which remained active until its expiration in 2020. Since then, He has been investing in startups through Taurus Aurum Limited, my SIV, directly and in syndicates.
