Demetris Skourides is the Chief scientist of Research innovation and Technology of the Republic of Cyprus appointed by H.E. President Nicos Christodoulides. The Chief Scientist has an expanded Technology role acting as the CTO advising the President, and Deputy Minister of Innoviation, Digital Policy, Research and Innovation on the country’s Digital transformation journey. As chairman of the Research Innovation Foundation, National coordinator committee coordinating R&I across Ministries, and AI strategist, he is responsible for accelerating the transformation of the Cy R&I ecosystem. In addition, he represents Cyprus at European level on the Board of Governors of JRC, European Scientific Advisor Forum. Previously he held the role of the Industry Strategist GSI AWS Commercial EMEA PSM team, Head of Cloud Business Transformation & ISV Solution engineers, at Alliances & Channels EMEA & APAC, Cloud Transformation. He has been instrumental in leading the pivot of Oracle's partner ecosystem EMEA and has substantial experience working multi-cultural teams, building partner and digital ecosystems from the ground-up. Through his tenure in leading the programs office, he has built high-performing GTM & business development teams that have been instrumental in adopting Oracle’s product portfolio including database, middleware, engineered systems and Cloud. His guidance, vision, strategic thinking, management skills have been instrumental in supporting Oracle’s partner channel in transforming to build & sell solutions, implement state-of-art solutions. Innovation is at the core of his DNA and a. great time of his time has been spent on working with startups, recruiting them to Oracle’s ecosystem and mentoring them on business model, go-to-market strategies. He launched the ECEMEA Partner architects community, lead the creation of 8 new Partner Cloud centers of excellence. Additional initiatives. Include the design of a Cloud first partner program known as the Cloud accelerator program, a Cloud marketplace promoting 1000+ partner solutions, service offerings, and a sales methodology focused on digital transformation. He is a thought leader in the domain of digital transformation and cloud transformation, a technology visionary evangelist, connector and channel rainmaker and accelerator.
